“What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.” – John 1:3
Fellowship is not just something that we try to fit into our Christian life after we get everything else together. Fellowship is important. It will challenge us, encourage us, and help us stay accountable. Fellowship is showing obedience to God and his word. The Fellowship Team hosts several events year round for all ages. We hope you will join us for fellowship so we may be one in Christ. Some of our fellowship events include:
Photo Scavenger Hunt and Dinner – January
Can you find the mayor? How about something with a tail? Surely you can find something holy? Join us for fellowship fun with this photo scavenger hunt and spaghetti feed event. We split into teams of approx. 4-5 people and off to the races you'll go in search of a slew of fun goodies and sights only to be seen/had in the 'Ville or on the church campus itself - all done with photographic evidence of such findings. The hunt is followed by a dinner and a slide show from the hunt. Prizes are awarded! This is an inter-generational event: ALL AGES WELCOME!
Annual Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-Off - February
We would love for you and your family to join us for our annual Oyster Roast and chili cook-off. It is always a lot of fun! We will gather around the oyster tables and feast on the Low Country treat, so make sure you bring your oyster knife and a glove. Or pull out your chili recipe and compete for bragging honors for ‘best chili’! For those of you who aren't oyster eaters, there will be hot dogs and plenty of chili, delicious sides and deserts to fill you up.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner - Kickoff to Lent/Springtime
We will celebrate Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday with a fun-filled evening. Shrove Tuesday is also called Fat Tuesday because the tradition is to eat all your leavened bread before the beginning of Lent, a time of fasting. We may not eat all of our leavened bread, but we will fill up on pancakes and other yummy breakfast dishes.
Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt – Easter Morning
You are invited to celebrate the risen Christ with us Easter morning. Bring a dish to share for this potluck breakfast followed by an egg hunt for the children.
Choir Appreciation Sunday Sundae – May
In honor and appreciation of the choir, we dedicate this Sunday with Sundaes!
Family Fun Night – September/October
Family Fun Night is an evening filled with laughter, playing Pictionary, Charades, Taboo, or Spoons (just to name a few). Snacks are provided.
Women's Retreat - November
Our women take a break from their day to day lives to retreat to the beach for a weekend of fellowship, renewal and relaxation. We spend time in devotions, group building, and worship as well as plenty of free time to reconnect with God and friends.
Advent Festival - December
This is a church-wide annual event held on the first Sunday of Advent. The evening includes a delicious dinner and desserts, a craft workshop, a Christmas program and caroling.
